IAMI Membership

• Law Enforcement Membership - Open to representatives of municipal, county, state, federal, national, or international law enforcement agencies who are full-time salaried employees with peace officer powers or are engaged in intelligence gathering in the United States. Coast Guard officials, special agents of the National Insurance Crime Bureau, and administrative officials of vessel registering or titling authorities are also eligible.
• Non-Law Enforcement Membership - Open to those persons not covered by Law Enforcement Membership, such as private marine investigators, insurance investigators, and marine industry representatives. It also includes part-time, reserve, auxiliary, or retired law enforcement officers. New Applicants shall be sponsored by a member in good standing and approved by the membership committee.
• Permanently Retired - Law Enforcement or Non-Law Enforcement members who are fully retired; neither self-employed nor working for anyone.
